This may be because the location of our base station is different from other operators’. Location of base stations is subject to availability and approval granted from the relevant authority (e.g. Building management).
Here are some common places you might have issues, and some explanations as to why the coverage might be poor.
Lift: Built mostly of metal, and containing lots of heavy electrical equipment, lifts are very good at blocking out mobile signal.
Basement: Basements usually have limited openings that are exposed to the ground level and this prevents radio signals from entering.
School lab or camp: Some schools and camps don’t allow us to set up base stations in their area.
Hospitals: There are certain areas in hospitals which we are not allowed to install a base station due to the sensitivity of the medical equipment.
MRT: Currently we don’t have a resolution for this, but please know that we are working to improve it.
