If you want to just turn off 5G sometimes while still being subscribed, you can simply toggle your network preference settings between 4G & 5G instead of unsubscribing.
In case you've decided to discontinue your 5G subscription, here are a few things you may wish to take note of:
- We've made it easy for you. You can just tap on 'Unsubscribe' button on the 5G page of the app to discontinue your subscription. No convoluted steps. We care about your experience.
- If you unsubscribe any time during the month before 30th/31st (last date) of the month (12 PM), you will continue to be able to access 5G until then since you have already been charged for the month upon subscribing. We want to be fair! :)
- For example, if you unsubscribe on the 20th Nov at 5 PM, you will continue to have access to the 5G network until 12 PM on 30th Nov and 5G will be turned off for you right after that.
- If you unsubscribe on the last date of the month after 12 PM, your subscription will be made ineffective immediately and we'll turn off 5G for you right then.
- We'll stop charging you from the next calendar month (duh!)
- You can always subscribe back to 5G after unsubscribing. However, if you've unsubscribed on the last date of the month, just wait for a day (for 1st of the next month) before subscribing again, just so that you don't get charged again for the previous month.
- After you've unsubscribed from 5G, you will be back to 4G speeds.
