Have you just subscribed to 5G but facing issues? Your device network/data settings may need an update!
Step 1: Make sure that your iPhone is on the latest software
Apple recommends users to update to the latest iOS 17.1.1.
Users who update to this OS reported having a more stable 5G connection.
To update, simple follow the steps below:
- Open "Settings" > "General" > "Software Update"

Step 2: Below are recommended settings to enable 5G in your iPhone:
For iPhone 13 and newer
Depending on your OS version, you may follow the steps below:
- Open “Settings” > "Mobile Data" > "Mobile Data Options" > "Voice & Data" > Tap on "5G On" and "5G Standalone"
OR
- Open "Settings" > "Mobile Data" > Select the SIM you are using > "Voice & Data" > Tap on "5G On" and "5G Standalone".
For iPhone 14 and newer
You may also enable the “Voice over 5G Standalone” settings, which allows you to use 5G for phone calls too. Follow the steps below:
- Open “Settings” > "Mobile Data" > "Mobile Data Options" > "Voice & Data" > Tap on “Voice over 5G Standalone”

Step 3: Make sure Low Power Mode is disabled, if no longer needed.
