If you're encountering issues with connecting to a network while overseas, it’s a good idea to start by reviewing these initial steps to ensure your roaming settings are correctly enabled:
1. Ensure You're Connected to the Preferred Network
Your phone should automatically connect to the correct network, but if it doesn’t, you can manually select the preferred network.
📍 Top Roaming Destinations & Networks (Full list)
Destination | Preferred Network(s) |
Malaysia | Digi, Celcom (⚠️ Avoid ‘Celcom 3G’) |
Thailand | True Move |
Indonesia | XL, Indosat |
Taiwan | Chunghwa |
China | China Mobile, China Unicom |
Hong Kong | SmarTone |
For iOS:
- Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Network Selection.
- Turn off Automatic and manually select the preferred network.
- For iOS users with multiple data plans: Settings > Mobile Data > Data Plans > Select your Circles.Life plan > Network Selection > Turn off Automatic and choose the preferred network.
For Android:
- Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Operators.
- Select Manually and choose the preferred network.
Note: If you can’t connect to a preferred network, you may be in a country where we don’t have a preferred network setup. Check the list of countries here.
2. Verify Your APN Settings
Ensure that your APN setting is correct:
-
For iOS: The APN is set automatically and cannot be changed. If needed, reset your network settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This may remove saved WiFi names and passwords.
-
For Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names and ensure the APN is set to 'Sunsurf'.

3. Toggle Your Roaming Settings in the Circles.Life App
Sometimes, toggling your roaming settings can help restore your connection:
- Open your Circles.Life app, go to Roaming > Roaming Settings > Roaming/IDD.
- Toggle Roaming off, then re-enable Data, Voice, and SMS Roaming.
4. Restart Your Phone or Reinsert the SIM Card
If you’ve tried all the previous steps and still face connectivity issues, restart your phone and/or reinsert the SIM card.
